2012 Fundraising Events
The FJR Foundation will once again be holding its annual charity run to raise money for causes such as pancreatic cancer research and its annual memorial scholarship. The 3rd annual Frank J. Romano Foundation Rock & Run 5K will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012. This year's run will offer participants and their families a Wellness Fair component that will feature information and screenings from area health professionals.

Foundation activities:
In June 2010, we awarded the first annual Frank J. Romano Memorial Scholarships to two graduating Goshen High School Seniors who are planning careers in public service. In October 2010, we held the first annual Rock & Run 5K and the 2nd annual memorial dinner dance. Both were a great success. In March 2011, we made our second donation to House on the Hill, a daycare center for the children of migrant workers. Because of the success of the First Annual Rock & Run, the foundation was also able to make a $2,500 donation to the Lustgarten Foundation, a non-profit that supports research into early detection and treatment of pancreatic cancer. In June 2011, the second annual Frank J. Romano Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Kristina Davila, a graduate of Goshen High School. Kristina wishes to become a police officer. Our first round of grantmaking will begin this February.
